GET OVER IT and GET ON WITH LIFE!

When someone commits a criminally punishable offense, they are tried in a court of law, and if found guilty, they are punished for the crime. This means they are to pay the required sentence, and then they are set free, rehabilitated, never to repeat the crime again.

But when we have been personally offended, many people will give their offenders an undeserved life sentence. Usually, without the courtesy of a conversation, judgement is passed on them, and the punishment begins. They are cut-down, cut-off, and cut out. Oftentimes , the consequences far outweigh the offense.

It’s time to stop using their wrong, to justify your anger.

I am only referring to the trivial matters. By no means do I want to trivialize the fact that your feelings were hurt, or you were disrespected. Perhaps the assault was not a deliberate attack on you, instead an assault in their own life which affects you.

Listen, the serious concerns plaguing our world today, affords no one the time to be small-minded and petty. This is not a time for holding grudges against anyone, and in many cases your own family members.

The bottom line is that the inability to forgive, holds you hostage. You are the one imprisoned, and your emotional wellbeing continues to be stagnant for years. Have you considered the fact that there are two sides to every story? Have you considered that time has passed and some people change? Haven’t you changed from the person you used to be?

There’s nothing you can do to change what has happened. You can only change your response to it. So…

Get over it, and Get on with life!

2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!”

This is a time for unity and forgiveness, for humanity and healing. So, share your compassion, not harshness and unforgiving. Be the example of kindness, and spread the love that we all need in our lives today.

Get over it, and Get on with life!

Ephesians 4:2-3

“In light of all this, here’s what I want you to do. While I’m locked up here, a prisoner for the Master, I want you to get out there and walk—better yet, run!—on the road God called you to travel. I don’t want any of you sitting around on your hands. I don’t want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere. And mark that you do this with humility and discipline—not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences.”

Ephesians 4:31–32

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Well written, for me it’s time to release my mind of old family grievances and move on.
