When someone is in need of what you have to offer, and you can give without expectation, you are showing compassion. When you can sympathize with someone who is struggling, or in pain you are showing compassion. When you can listen to hear and not just to respond, you are showing compassion. When you give more effort to understanding than finding fault, you are showing compassion. When you can fulfill the need of an undeserving, you are showing compassion.
When you are compassionate others benefit from your kindness.
Compassion is void of judgement.
The satisfaction an altruistic person receives is unmeasurable.
There is evidence that being aware of your own acts of kindness and the things you are grateful for can increase feelings of happiness, optimism, and satisfaction.
Luke 6:38
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
