WE NEED A BREAK!


Lately, it feels as if the world is turning upside down and backwards. Escalating tensions around the world, inflation in the grocery stores and at the gas pumps. Evil threatening basic security and stability—

We need a break!


Since we possess little to no control over these worldly issues, please allow me to remind you of the power that you do have. Self-control!


Self-control is an underutilized superpower! We all possess it, but it must be activated and applied.

When we take control of our own lives, you’re saying, “As for me, regardless of what is going on around me, I choose to be at peace.”Creating positive, and healthy mindsets is essential for our survival. From a position of peace and positivity, we can respond to situations with clarity and confidence in ourselves and our actions.


We all have a unique set of abilities, and different experiences and interests. So, I encourage everyone to tap into those experiences and explore the possibilities. Make your situations better, your environment better, your life better. Whatever “better” means to you, by thinking about things that bring you joy.


I have a few suggestions:

  • Make a list of fun/interesting things you want to try/learn.

  • Start something positive that you’ve never done before.

  • Join a community based group, as a volunteer.

Even the practice of thinking about what you’re passionate about will elevate your mood and motivation. A cheerful disposition honors God.
