Have you ever considered how disabling it is to think there is no freedom of action, or no conscious choice between other people's behavior and your mental and emotional response to it. The space between stimulus and response, is where other people control their behavior, but you choose your reactions.
Researchers say emotions are stories we tell ourselves to explain physical and mental sensations.
When we use words to remind ourselves of an emotion, words are formed in a way that allows us space to tell different, and better stories.
Proverbs 25:28 - 28
“Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.”
“And the Lord said, go, I will help you speak, and I will teach you what to say.” Exodus 4:12
