ORDINARY PEOPLE

Anyone whose name is not currently on billboards or a Marquee, in the headlines or sought after by ad agencies, by the world’s standards is considered an Ordinary People. When you heard the title, some of you may have been offended. But, please don’t be, because the awesome body of Christ, is comprised of an ordinary people. Please allow me to explain…

Within the Body, we have all been assigned a specific role, and each of us has a contribution to make. People like Moses, who was tending sheep on the backside of the desert when God appeared to him in a burning bush and called him to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. People like David, a mere shepherd boy, who defeated the giant Goliath so that everyone might know that there was a God in Israel. People like Esther, married to a pagan king, who used her royal position to save the Jews from extermination. People like Peter, Andrew, James, and John… fishermen who became fishers of men for the Lord Jesus Christ. The list could go on and on.

God chooses and uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. He doesn’t need our ability, but rather our availability. Can I say that again? He doesn’t need our ability, but rather our availability. As children of God, we are an ordinary people, who have been sanctified (set apart), and fully equipped to do the will of our Heavenly Father.

God uses the gifted, talented, beautiful and bold person that He created us to be.

1Corinthians 12:27-28

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it, And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues.”
