I am a work in progress. Long ago, before I was formed in my mother’s womb, my creator began a good work in me. Jesus Christ, the son of Almighty God said I, me, am an heir to the throne.
Now, some may take that to mean-since we have already been chosen, that the work is already done. God must have chosen the perfect people to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.
However, my flesh has made me imperfect. My desire to fix things myself, or being easily offended are not pleasing in the sight of God. I am not of the world, but I am still in the world, tempted and tested by the powers of evil.
God began a good work in me, but this vessel is still a work in progress. I am transformed daily by the renewing of my mind. I am still an heir only because of God’s grace and mercy.
Humbly, I come before the Lord, daily, with my heart open and my mind ready to receive more. More wisdom, more knowledge and a greater understanding of He who has called me, and the life-changing journey I am on.
No matter how far I have come, I remain a grateful work in progress.
I encourage you to humble yourself, to see yourself and all of your perfect imperfections.
Know that you too- are a work in progress.
Philippians 1:6
“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
